The Craft Room

A north-facing room, which provides lots of natural light during the mornings and lovely views into the back garden.

It isn't normally this tidy; once I get started on a project, things start getting placed wherever I need them.  The floor is normally covered in threads and fluff.

For larger projects the garage, garden and other rooms of the house are commandeered for craft use!  At least my husband still has his corner of the sofa, though.........!

Tools of the Trade

I use mainly two Janome sewing/embroidery machines: an MC 15000 Quilt Maker and an MC 9900.

For my last birthday, my husband bought me a 1909-vintage Singer 28K Hand Crank with many of the original feet, tools and bobbins.

From a house sale I was able to find a lovely 1925-vintage Singer 66K.  I use these occasionally to reminisce of my earliest days of sewing, whilst sitting on my mother's lap.

I also have a Janome AirTread 2000D overlocker that is in regular use.
